Thailand cuts 2012/13 sugar output estimate

Thailand has revised down its forecast for sugar production in 2012 to 9.4 million tons from the 10 million previously estimated, due to poor rain which reduced cane availability, according to Somsak Suwattiga, deputy secretary-general of the Office of the Cane and Sugar Board (OCSB). It is the second time this year that the OCSB reduces the sugar production outlook.
