According to data from the “El Nuevo País”, since Brazil has made an alliance with the government of George W. Bush, then-President Hugo Chávez ended its plans to build up ethanol plants in Venezuela. The Venezuelan energy plan depends on decisions of the current government.
No official source has ruled on the continuation or discontinuation of use of ethanol in the country and on the continuity of ethanol production programs.
