Russia will import more sugar during the 2013/14 (Aug/Jul) marketing year as low prices lead to a decrease in acreage sown to sugar beet, the head of Russia’s Institute for Agricultural Market Studies (IKAR), Dmitry Rylko, said.

Russian sugar output for 2013/14 is expected to decrease from 4.8 million tons to 4.0 million , FO Licht senior analyst Stefan Uhlenbrock said during a conference in Brazil.
