Russia – IKAR sees sugar exports down sharply in 2012/13

Russian sugar exports will fall to 40,000 tonnes in the 2012/13 crop year from more than 205,000 in the previous season because of poor export economics, the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies (IKAR) said.

IKAR pointed out that Belarus and Kazakhstan, which have a domestic surplus, have been particularly active on Russia’s traditional markets.
