ISMA raises sugar output for 2012/13

The Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA) increased its sugar production estimate for the 2012/13 season to 24.6 million tons, white value. The association had previously forecast a production of 24.3 million. The increase is due to a better output in the top producing state of Maharashtra.

ISMA earlier expected the state to produce about 6.8 million tons, but so far it has already produced about 7.2 million tons.
