Mills in India will increase their profits on the ethanol sale, as the Inter-Ministerial Group agreed to implement a program that will set new benchmark prices in biofuel, which has the mandatory use of ethanol in gasoline set at 5%, according to the Hindu Business Line India.
An official of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas told Business Line that ethanol prices can rise in InR 2/liter, while the sugar industry expects an increase of up to INR 5/liter for next season, which starts in October.
