France forecast a decline in sugar production in the country

The French agriculture ministry has forecast a big decline in mainland sugar output in the 2012/13 marketing year.

In its first forecast this year, France AgriMer said it expects the country’s sugar output to fall sharply to 4.137 million tons, white value, ( a reduction of around 600 000 tonnes) from 4.775mt in 2011/12. The EU sugar production quota for the mainland is only 2.907m
