Ethanol output in brazil is expected to grow

In Brazil, the largest exporter of sugar, sugar cane season 2012/13 in the South-Central region is virtually complete, with a production of 34.07 million tonnes of sugar estimated by the Union of Sugarcane Industry Association (UNICA), a increase of 8.84%. The volume of sugar cane processed by mills in South-Central region of Brazil reached about 535 million tons. The region corresponds to about 90 percent of cane crushing in the country.

The prospect are that the production of sugar cane in the Center-South of Brazil can grow almost 60 million tonnes, reaching a record 590 million tons in the season 2013/14, which starts in April, according to data from consultancy JOB Economy .
