Company to fund new sugar and ethanol mill in Sudan

European US Intertorco will fund a giant project for sugar production in Sudan after the state government secured an exemption for the company from the economic embargo on the country, Sennar Governor Ahmed Abbas Mohamed Saad told Sudan Vision newspaper.

According to Abbas the sugar mill will produce 200,000 tons of sugar, 120 million liters of ethanol and 20 million tons of fodder annually. The plant will cost around $ 802 million and shlul begin oepratin in the 2014-2015 season.
