Data released this week by a consultancy indicate from March 1st to March 15 Brazil exported 1.21 million tons of sugar. The country is in a period where the 2012/13 crop is ending, while the 203/14 crop starts. According to estimates from Conab – National Supply Company, the Center-South region will crush 594 million tons of sugarcane, up 11.5% from the previous season.
Brazil, including the Northeast, will process a total of 653.8 million tons of sugarcane, up 11% compared with the 588.9 million tonnes produced in 2012/13.
The final estimate for the 2012/13 crop in South-Central region, according to Conab, is 533 million tons.
