Bioethanol industry in Argentina able to increase blending to 15%

Group of companies that produce the biofuel from corn operate at 85% of operational possibilities

Members from the Argentinian biofuel sector say that the country has installed capacity available to increase the mandatory blending of ethanol in gasoline from the current 10 to 15 percent, as proposed by the presidential candidate of the Frente para la Victoria party, Daniel Scioli.

Patrick Adam, executive director of the Argentine Chamber of corn bioethanol (Biomaíz) told local press that the group of companies that produce the biofuel from corn operate at 85% of operational possibilities, obtaining 500,000 m3 per year and that it is possible to increase blending to 13 percent overnight, and to 15% in a month or two.
